A different option that combines several activities in one evening.

Present in tours

The city has a wide variety of cultural centres of all shapes and sizes, from small venues with few tables to huge complexes with several spaces for different types of exhibitions and performances, all at affordable prices. Cultural centres offer shows and concerts, food and drink, workshops, conferences, poetry readings and more. To listen to music, Club Atlético Fernández Fierro (Sánchez de Bustamante 764), founded by the Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro is a good option, with a programme of bands and orchestras from Thursday to Sunday. El Club Cultural Matienzo (Pringles 1249) in Almagro offer a packed programme of theatre, workshops, poetry readings, and even has its own radio station and a terrace bar. Close by are the arts spaces Vuela el Pez (Córdoba 4379) and Membrillo Cultural (Córdoba 4158), which both present up-and-coming bands at the weekend. Musicleta (Aguirre 489) is a small bar which often hosts solo shows which are free or by donation, and El Quetzal (Guatemala 4516) is a cultural centre covered in graffiti by acclaimed street artists such as El Marian. You can have a drink on the patio then go inside to hear the band that's playing. Other cultural centres with good programmes include Roseti (Roseti 722), Despierta (Av. Federico Lacroze 3584), Pim Pum Pam (Ciudad de la Paz 90) and Cangrejos (Ciudad de la Paz 123), in Colegiales, and Besares Club de Cultura (Besares 1840), in Núñez. The latter has a homemade food and a big garden, perfect for summer evenings.

In the area around the Abasto, there are options such as El Emergente Abasto (Gallo 333), Mi Casa (Agüero 787), which often hosts punck and rock bands, and the famous Ciudad Cultural Konex (Sarmiento 3131), which organises music and theatre festivals, and a wide range of other activities, including the acclaimed percussion show La Bomba del Tiempo, every Monday night. In Almagro, there's El Emergente Almagro (Francisco Acuña de Figueroa 1031), La Hormiga de Oro (Medrano 688). Other options include La Gran Jaime (Aráoz 832) in Villa Crespo, El Universal (Pasaje Soria 4940) in Palermo, and Club Premier (Campichuelo 472) in Caballito.

Tip

Many cultural centres have more than one space, so you can see what's going on and also have something to eat and drink.
