The bookstores on the new Calle Corrientes
Buenos Aires is the city with the most bookstores per capita in the world. Discover them for yourself!

Old books and the latest titles; second hand magazines and universal classics; tales for children and highly specialist technical manuals. You can find all this and more on Avenida Corrientes between the avenue’s intersections with Esmeralda and Callao. Within these blocks, you’ll find a large number of Buenos Aires’ many bookstores, and curiously many of them are open late into the night.

Just the avenue Corrientes alone offers some of the best plans for a night out in the city: take in a show at one of the theatres, enjoy pizza with fainá at one of the many pizzerias, and then pick up a book to take home to read.
