El Museo de la Ciudad, or Museum of the City, occupies a historic building just 100 metres from the Plaza de Mayo.
Created in 1968, it's an interesting place to learn more about the city's identity, compiling the history of the city, its inhabitants, customs, and architecture. Its collections include photographs, plans, furniture, postcards, magazine and curious everyday objects. There's also a specialised library focusing on the city, and the museums holds community workshops.
Guided tours (in Spanish) are offered with preinscription between 10.00am and 3.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
