Located in the Caballito neighbourhood since 1889, this is one of the most historic food markets in Buenos Aires, and it offers a very wide variety of products. As well as stalls selling fresh meat, veg, fish and dairy products, there are bars, pizzerias and wineries.
All in all there are 17 stalls facing the street and 174 inside the market building. The space is three times larger than when it was first founded, but it still preserves many details from the early years, and many of the current stallholders are grandchildren or relatives of the original owners.
As well as food, other products available on the market include technology, art, decoration and clothing. All in an emblematic market with a Parisian style metal roof.
