Basílica de San Carlos y María Auxiliadora

Jorge Mario Bergoglio, later Pope Francis, was baptised here on December 25, 1936, and often attended the annual parish celebrations for the virgin María Auxiliadora every May 24. The basilica belongs to the Salesians of Don Bosco. It was constructed by Ernesto Vespignani and completed in 1910.
