La Usina del Arte is a multidisciplinary cultural centre located in La Boca neighbourhood.
Built in 1916 by Italian architect Juan Chiogna, the building was used as a power plant by the Italian-Argentine Electricity Company for many years. It opened as a cultural centre in 2012 follwing an ambitious regeneration project undertaken by the Buenos Aires City government, taking inspiration from international regeneration projects such as Park Avenue Armory in New York and Radial System in Berlin.
The centre has a 1,200 capacity symphony hall with state-of-the-art acoustics and multiple spaces dedicated to dance, art exhibitions.
