Galileo Galilei Planetarium

See the stars at this popular attraction.

The 1960s-built planetarium, resembling a UFO, is located in the Parque Tres de Febrero in Palermo. It has a main projection room with a 20 meter dome and reclineable seats for viewing projections of the stars and planets, and a smaller room for exhibitions. It also has a museum, a collection of meteorites from the north of Argentina, and hosts interactive exhibits and audiovisual shows.

The planetarium is built on the sight of the first recorded football match to be played in Argentina, contested between the Buenos Aires Cricket Club and the crew of British warship the Bombay on June 29, 1867
