Antigua Tasca de Cuchilleros

Old house with a tragic love story.

The walls of this house, which was built between the end of the 18th and start of the 19th century, enclose a tragic tale of love. Here lived Margarita, the daughter of a member of governor Juan Manuel de Rosa's paramilitary group La Mazorca. Her father wanted her to marry Ciriaco Cuitiño, the leader of the Mazorca group, but she fell in love with a guitar player called Juan Cruz Cuello and fled with him to Luján. Cuitiño pursued the couple and fatally wounded Margarita.
