A renovated market with a modern look and a wide range of gastronomy where you can shop then eat.
This old market was renovated in April 2019 and now includes a huge range of stalls offering all kinds of food.
Ten of the origin units still remain offering fruit and veg, cold cuts, fish, cheese and meat. Others have been reinvented, and there are now several eateries offering dishes to eat on the food patio.
The history
In 1966 street sellers in the area moved into the new Mercado de San Nicolás. The market declined in importance over the years but in 2019 was renovated through a city government plan to recover the city's traditional markets.
