La Mezzetta

Standing room only at this old pizzeria.

La Mezzetta is an old pizzeria where you can only eat standing "de parado”, that is standing up at the bar. The pizza is strictly deep-pan, greasy and with the topping slightly burned and loaded with ingredients. There are only four varieties available: muzzarella, fugazzetta, anchovie (anchoa) and napolitana. There's a brisk turnover of customers all day. Desserts are traditional - with ricotta cake and quince tart being favourites.
