El Fortín

The pizzeria claimed by several different football teams

Founded by Don Perfecto Purdón and inherited by his son Sergio and grandson Sebastián, El Fortín is an iconic pizzeria in the Villa Luro neighbourhood. It takes its name from the nickname of nearby football club Veléz Sarsfield, but supporters of rival teams All Boys and Argentinos Juniors also claim it as their official pizzeria.

Pizza here is strictly "al molde" - deep-pan, oily and loaded with ingredients.

Inauguration: 1962
Speciality: typical Buenos Aires "al molde" pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven.
