El Puentecito

The place to go for traditional squid rings, "Maryland" chicken and desserts such as Don Pedro.

This is one of those places with a lot of history but largely known only by the most informed locals. Just metres from the city's southern limits on the Riachuelo river, the site was originally a stopping point for horse carriages in the mid 1700s. Nowadays, after several transformations, it's now one of the best places to find what used to be some of the city's favourite dishes, such as battered squid rings, Spanish tortilla, Maryland chicken, and the Don Pedro dessert (cream, ice cream, and whiskey).
