El Palacio de La Papa Frita

The "Palace of the Fried Potato" has been serving juicy steaks since 1952

Another classic, this popular establishment has for a long time been a firm favourite in the Corrientes theatre and cinema district. Since 1952, it's been serving juicy steaks of export quality bife de chorizo, seven-rib asado de tira and delicious souffle fried potatoes, inflated like zeppelins! (the secret is apparently the way the potato is cut, and frying them at three different temperatures).

Arturo Frondizi, Arturo Umberto Illia, Celia Cruz, Ástor Piazzola, Luis Aguilé and Julio Iglesias are a few of the famous names to have graced the tables here. Other dishes on the menu include culinary relics such as vegetable buñuelos, escalopes a la romana, suprema a la Maryland, bread pudding and flambé pancake with rum.

The restaurant now has several branches.
