El Grill del Plaza Hotel

El Plaza Hotel has one of the city's most elegant restaurants: the famous Grill. It was the first restaurant to have a grill integrated in the dinning room (imported from England). It continues to serve old gastronomic classics like "canard à la presse”, mollejas (sweetbreads) a la Demidoff, Sarah Bernhardt lobster and Po Parisky eggs, a creation of Italian chef Beneducci.

Many famous names have dined here over the decades, including the king and queen Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía of Spain, Charles De Gaulle, Edith Piaf and Louis Armstrong. Sofia Loren once had to escape through the service entrance disguised as a waitress to avoid the waiting paparazzi outside.
