Bar Británico

Legendary bar popular with British war veterans in the early 20th century.

This cafe and bar became an emblem of the area around Parque Lezama in the 1930s. It's name comes from the fact that a group of British veterans of the First World War lived in a guest house nearby and would often drink here. The whole neighbourhood came together to defend this local institution when it was once threatened with closure and now it seems as if time has stood still.
