Banchero

Banchero is one of the most traditional pizzerias in La Boca, located just 700 metres from the Caminito and 500 metres from Boca Juniors’ stadium La Bombonera (it’s a popular stop for Boca supporters before Sunday evening matches). The pizzeria was opened in 1932 by Juan Banchero, the son of Genoese immigrants and the man who is said to have invented the fugazzeta, an onion-heavy fugazza pizza stuffed full of cheese.
