A few metres away, we continue to explore at the Museo de Bellas Artes Benito Quinquela Martín. The site was the home and workshop of La Boca's most famous artist, who donated the property in order to create this museum. It contains various paintings that resemble fileteado, as well as a room full of ship figureheads with spiral designs symbolising wind and waves, and mythological figures that protect men from the sea. Many of these ships came from Italy so it's possible that the designs have the same origin.
