Continuing to position the city as a major MICE destination, the Buenos Aires City Tourist Board took part in the 31st edition of IBTM World in Barcelona November 27 - 29. More than 3,000 exhibitors from 150 countries attended the event, which attracted 15,000 people and hosted 70,000 pre-arranged meetings.
Exhibitors included tourist offices from destinations around the world, conventions bureaux, hotels, exhibition and conference centres, airlines, and events specialists. The city's objective was to attract more events for the forthcoming years. Buenos Aires is 11th place in the world and the leader in the Americas for the number of international congresses and conventions held, according to the ICCA and the MICE segment is one of those that has most impact in the Argentine capital, which has seen growth in incentive trips this year.
The tourist board's participation in the event forms part of the MICE maketing plan that aims to boost the impact of the segment in the city.
